Chief Operating Officer
Catherine has been with Sullivan since the very beginning. She was our first employee and has worked hard with Joe to develop the company into what it is today. She is our resident encyclopedia of benefits. Our clients marvel at her knowledge of insurance, regulations and programs, her remarkable attention to detail, and her deep level of caring for every one of our clients and their employees.
At Sullivan, Catherine oversees all aspects of our operations. She manages account services and sets the tone for her team’s “can do” attitude. Her responsibilities include marketing, business development, the RFP process, carrier negotiations, cost-benefit analysis, underwriting, analytics, and network comparisons. Catherine is uniquely qualified to oversee the service model for our clients due to her extensive experience in conducting claim, premium, network, and eligibility audits for clients. She is renowned for her creative solutions that help clients save money and plan long-term solutions to mitigate risk. Her experience in handling escalated and highly sensitive claim issues allow her to provide our clients with the most accurate and timely claim resolution.
Throughout the policy year, Catherine and her group resolve claim and general service issues as well as conduct monthly and quarterly reviews of the benefits program. They also assist our clients with implementing well rounded benefit portfolios that are competitive with industry norms.
Catherine is a dual citizen and transplanted to the United States from Ottawa, Canada. She graduated from the University of Ottawa with her Bachelor of Arts and holds her Life, Health and Variable Annuity license from the state of Florida. She is an approved CE instructor for the Florida Department of Financial Services.
Catherine presents on many different subjects pertaining to employee benefits and Human Resources at multiple conferences annually and has developed and taught multiple training programs throughout her career. Catherine is on several Broker Executive Councils and is a member of the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce, LeadingAge Florida, Florida Health Care Association, and National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
Catherine is very active in her community, church, and various local charities. A specific organization that is very dear to her heart is the ALS Association. This is due, in part, to the passing of her mother in-law as a result of this disease. She also works with the Central Florida Pug Rescue, which was inspired by her own experience rescuing her family’s pug Lionel. She and her husband Grant are the proud parents of three energetic daughters who keep them on their toes at all times!
